About the Role

As the first full-time staff technical writer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work with our community, engineers, and CTO to write clear documentation that is useful, clear, and succinct. Your documentation will be the very first touchpoint that developers will experience and the very first words they will read. You will be responsible for our documentation to make our toolkit (the APIs, SDKs, and CLI's) even more powerful and successful.

You'll be working on

  • Contribute to the growth of the open-source developer ecosystem. You bring your expertise and commitment to excellence to help build documentation that makes it easy for everyone.
  • Understanding the underlining intuition of Source technology.
  • Writing technical documentation that is useful, clear, and succinct.

You're most likely to succeed in this role if you

  • Enjoy technical writing and engaging with an open-source community.
  • Have early startup experience.
  • Have experience writing technical documentation for developers.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

Success in this role means

In the first month, you will join your engineering team and start to learn about our production systems, software development workflow, and the architecture of DefraDB and complementary technologies. We believe that it's essential for you to take this first month to become familiar with our technology, company, and our culture.

As our team grows you will have the opportunity to not only shape the direction of development for DefraDB but work alongside the founders to shape the future of the project and Source ecosystem as a whole.
